The term Shaman (first known use 1698) comes from the Manchu-Tungus dialect of Siberia – the word šaman. The noun is formed from the verb ša- ‘to know’; thus, a Shaman is literally “one who knows”.

We will study “TRADITIONAL MEDICINE”: knowledge passed down through generations of how to interact, honour and survive in the physical and spiritual world – how to heal and be healed, how to avoid sickness/evil through diet, tinctures, etc., honouring the ancestors & culture, taking an active part in your own healing. This workshop will explore the core elements of Spiritual Nutrition.

Most often, when one resolves towards better health, they resort to diet and exercise, they focus on going to the gym, detoxes and cutting back on unhealthy foods. This can often be difficult to maintain and often sees one feeling drained overall.

Rather than targeting restriction and body-shocking tactics, Spiritual Nutrition concentrates on nourishing all levels of your existence. It is not really a diet or an exercise routine, but more so a healthy prescription for a lifestyle that stimulates balance and harmony across the emotional, spiritual, mental and physical bodies within your auric field. Thus, producing higher energy levels, better focus, circadian rhythm attuned sleep patterns and an overall boost in the light body.

Several keys will be presented that are the basis for creating and sustaining the balancebetween each layer of our existence. A brief account on indigenous’ philosophy across man’s history will be shared in relation to current days’ western and eastern systems of medicine; as it applies to perception, treatment and care of the body.

When we think of Magical Gardening often we are overwhelmed by the terminology, supplies and timing of where and when to start to seed, when to plant and when to harvest.  In the first part of the Wheel of The Year Series we begin with :

Getting Supplies – Tools, pots, soil, seeds, etc.

Important Dates – What to Start and When

Understanding seed packet information and terminilogy (ex., what “last frost” and “late winter” mean in Ontario with regard to starting seeds.

In the Wheel of the Year Series,  agriculture and gardening will be discussed, with a brief overview of the correlation with each wheel spoke in relation to Magical Herbalism.

During Part One,  we will go into the Celtic Wheel of the Year with more detail about Ostara, The Spring Equinox and Imbolc which has just passed.

We will finish out the evening with a guided meditation for growth and self development to connect us with the Spring Equinox and then partake in some ”Sowing with Intent – Infusing Your Seeds with Magic” – incorporating a seed planting empowerment, planting seeds for desired change like spiritual growth, prosperity – any kind of increase.
